Details and care

Quiet, really

Most standard grinders go above 90 dB, the noise of a drill. This one stays quieter than a fridge. Plenty of dogs finish the session lying down, without a fuss.

No split nails, no cutting too short

Clippers crush the nail and can split it or catch the quick. The grinder takes the nail down in thin layers: you stop before reaching the quick, even on black nails.

A setting for every paw

Three ports (small, medium, large) and two speeds: from kittens to giant breeds, from fine nails to thick ones. The protective cap keeps fur and pads away from the grinding drum.

The grinder in action

A few seconds per nail, no yelping, no bad cut.

Ready in three steps

How does it work?

No need to be a groomer: a few calm minutes on the sofa.

  1. Ponceuse Chez Milo : protection intégrée, embout diamanté, moteur sans balais, deux vitesses

    Pick the port

Small, medium or large depending on the nail. Start on the low speed.

  2. Chien calme sur un tapis pendant le ponçage des griffes

Let them get used to it

Let your dog sniff the grinder switched off, then on. A treat, and try again.

  3. Ponceuse approchée d’une patte : votre chien reste détendu et en confiance

    Grind in short touches

One or two seconds per pass, nail by nail. Stop as soon as a dark dot appears in the centre.

Under 40 dB: quieter than a fridge

Quiet

Quieter than your fridge

Most nail grinders go above 90 dB: the noise of a drill, right next to the paw. It’s that noise that makes dogs bolt, not the grinder itself. The Silent Nail Grinder’s DC motor runs under 40 dB and barely vibrates on the nail.

The result: plenty of dogs stay lying down for the whole session.

  • Under 40 dB, versus 90 dB for a standard grinder
  • Low-vibration DC motor
  • No revving noise: the sound stays steady

Why not clippers?

Cutting is a gamble. Grinding is control.

Clippers cut in one go: the nail gets pinched, sometimes split, and one millimetre too far is enough to hit the quick. One bad experience, and your dog pulls the paw away the moment the tool appears.

The grinder turns the problem around. It takes the nail down layer by layer, at your pace: you can see where you are, stop whenever you like, and the session stays calm.

Precision

Even on black nails, you know where to stop

The grinder takes the nail down in thin layers. On a light nail you can see the pink part (the quick): stop before it. On a black nail, watch the centre of the cut: as soon as a small dark dot appears, that’s your signal to stop.

Three ports and two speeds suit every nail, from kittens to giant breeds. The protective cap keeps fur and pads away from the drum.

  • 3 ports: small, medium, large
  • 2 speeds, to start gently
  • Diamond drum and protective cap

Health

Short nails, a healthier stride

Walks on pavement wear nails down, but never evenly. When they’re too long they change how the paw lands, strain the joints and end up hurting.

One grinding session every two or three weeks is enough to keep the right length, at home, without booking the groomer.

  • A natural stance on the paw
  • Less strain on the joints
  • No more groomer or vet visits for nails

Frequently asked questions

What you often ask us

Which dog sizes is it for?

All of them. The three ports cover small nails (cats, small dogs), medium ones and the thick nails of large dogs. Start on the low speed, then switch to high if the nail is hard.

How far should I grind the nail?

On a light nail, stop before the pink part. On a black nail, grind in thin layers and watch the centre of the cut: a small dark dot means the quick is close. That’s the moment to stop.

My dog is scared, what can I do?

Let your dog sniff the grinder switched off first, then switched on, without touching the paw. Reward calm behaviour. Start with one or two nails per session, then build up gradually.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 7 hours of use, which is plenty of sessions. A full charge takes about 1.5 hours with the included USB cable.

Don’t walks wear the nails down enough?

They help, especially on pavement, but the wear is never even and doesn’t reach the dewclaws. Nails that are too long change how the paw lands and strain the joints.

Does it work for cats and rabbits too?

Yes. The small port and low speed suit the fine nails of cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.

When will I receive it?

Your order ships within 24 hours, then arrives in 2 to 7 business days. Shipping is free, and you have 30 days to change your mind.
